Reza found engineering was the right fit for him as he is someone who is always curious and creative when it comes to problem solving.
“I was continuously curious about how things work. I soon realized that the field of study which gives me satisfaction and where I could show my creativity would be engineering,” said Reza. “I then attended a university to become an engineer and I started work at a company as a part-time engineer while I was studying my courses. I have worked as an engineer ever since then. I have always loved my engineering jobs."
Of course, engineering is a broad field. Engineers may specialize in a variety of areas including mechanical, electrical, software and more. Reza specializes in machine learning.
"One of the main goals in machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) is to automate the processes, so tasks are being completed without human intervention,” shared Reza.
At VATH, Reza works alongside a team on horizontal directional drilling (HDD) technology.

If you are a banker then you might find that your first day on the job is similar to the last,” said Reza. “In an engineering career, that’s unlikely to happen.
