New Vermeer mower conditioner line enhances hay and forage operations

New Vermeer mower conditioner line enhances hay and forage operations
Vermeer launches a new line of mower conditioners, offering four models with cutting widths from 9 to 15 feet. Featuring innovative Q3® cutter bar technology and flexible conditioning options, these machines are designed to enhance hay quality and operational efficiency for producers of all sizes.

Vermeer introduces its new line of mower conditioners, designed to meet the diverse needs of hay producers across various operations. The lineup includes four models: MC90, MC105, MC120 and MC150. Each offers a range of cutting widths to suit different field sizes and tractor capacities.

The Vermeer mower conditioner line offers a range of cutting widths from 9 ft to 15 ft (3 m to 4.6 m), catering to operations of all sizes. The MC90 and MC105 are side pull models designed for smaller to medium operations, featuring cutting widths of 9 ft (3 m) and 10.5 ft (3.2 m), respectively. These models provide excellent maneuverability in tighter fields. For larger operations, Vermeer offers two center pull models. The MC120 comes with a 12 ft (3.7 m) cutting width, while the MC150 maximizes productivity with a 15 ft (4.6 m) cutting width, ideal for expansive fields.

“Mower conditioners are essential for a complete hay tool lineup,” said Shane Rourke, managing director of Vermeer Forage Solutions. “Our new models offer durability, convenient innovations, and quality that farmers and ranchers expect from Vermeer. They are backed by a trusted dealer network and comprehensive after-sales support.”

Vermeer mower conditioners combine hay and forage expertise with innovative features to enhance productivity and crop quality. The entire line is equipped with the Q3® cutter bar, known for its convenient maintenance and long-lasting durability. The Q3 cutter bar features the Quick-Clip® blade retention system, Quick-Change™ shear ring and quick-check oil for each individual cutter unit, all backed by a 3-year cutter bar coverage. These features work together to minimize interruptions and maintain consistent, high-quality cutting performance throughout the season.

The new mower conditioners offer two hitch options for simple, one-person hookup: a patented drawbar swivel hitch and a patented 2-point Quick Hitch. Both feature a balanced pivoting connection to help users get to the field quickly. This flexibility allows farmers to select the option that best suits their existing equipment and preferences, improving overall operational efficiency.

The new lineup offers two types of conditioners to optimize hay quality for different operations. Steel rollers provide a more aggressive crimp for better dry down, ideal for tough, stemmy crops. Rubber rollers offer a gentler conditioning action, focusing on maximizing leaf retention for delicate crops. This choice allows producers to tailor their equipment to their specific crop types and desired end products.

Vermeer has incorporated several features to enhance the performance and ease of use of these mower conditioners. The hydraulic suspension system offers consistent ground contouring with easy adjustments based on field conditions. This adaptability helps maintain optimal cutting height and pressure across varying terrains, resulting in a more uniform crop and reduced wear on the equipment.

To further improve versatility, the mower conditioners feature a toolless pitch adjustment system. This hydraulically controlled system allows for efficient adjustments, requiring only the movement of a pin at the rear of the machine. This design enables operators to adapt to different crops and conditions quickly, maximizing yield while minimizing damage to the field. The ability to make swift adjustments can help increase productivity during time-sensitive harvesting windows.

Standard topping stops are included to maintain cutter bar flotation integrity. This feature helps protect both the equipment and the field by preventing the cutter bar from hitting the ground, maintaining a consistent cut height and reducing the risk of damage to the mower or the crop stubble.

Built with durability in mind, these mower conditioners feature a heavy-duty frame and large tires. This robust construction allows them to withstand the rigors of varying field conditions, providing reliable performance season after season.
